Revoke is the disconnect button. It is the same action as unplugging the store: the connection between that store and your Clover account stops working immediately, and the store keeps taking no card payments until someone sets the connection up again from the store itself.

If what you actually want is fresh credentials on a store that keeps running, there is a different path for that, at the end of this article.

Where revoke lives

In your WeeConnectPay dashboard, the sidebar item API Clients opens a page titled API Clients, subtitled "View your connected integrations".

Each connected store appears as a card carrying its Merchant, Employee, Clover App, Domain, Platform, plugin Version, and when it was Connected, with a Revoke button in the card footer.

The page states its own purpose plainly: "API clients are automatically created when you connect through your platform. Use this page to revoke existing connections."

What the confirmation tells you

Clicking Revoke opens a confirmation headed Disconnect followed by the platform's name, so a WooCommerce store reads Disconnect WooCommerce integration. Under it, a red warning:

"This will immediately disconnect your WooCommerce site (your domain) from your Clover account. Any payments or transactions processed through this connection will stop working."

Below that: "This action cannot be undone. To reconnect, you'll need to go through the setup process again from your WooCommerce site."

You then type DISCONNECT into the confirmation field and click Disconnect. The typed confirmation exists because this action reaches a live store.

What happens the moment you confirm

The credentials The store's API credentials are revoked immediately. Everything issued through them stops working at once.
Your checkout WeeConnectPay hides itself as a payment method, so customers cannot start a payment that can only fail.
Your store admin A red banner appears across the WordPress admin: "Your WeeConnectPay credentials are no longer valid, so payments are not being processed. Go to WeeConnectPay settings and sign in with Clover again to issue new credentials."
Your inbox An email arrives under the subject "Your WeeConnectPay integration has been disconnected". Because you did this on purpose, it acknowledges the action instead of raising an alarm. It goes to the person whose Clover account connected the store and to the merchant owner.

What revoking leaves untouched

Revoking removes access. It removes nothing else.

  • Your WooCommerce orders, their notes, and their payment records stay in your store, exactly as they were.
  • Every payment already taken stays in your Clover account, with its full history.
  • Your plugin settings stay on your site: transaction mode, order printing, fraud protection, your tax rate links, your product links, and the rest.
  • Your Clover account, your Clover devices, and your Clover reporting are unaffected.

Uninstalling the WeeConnectPay app from Clover is also a revocation

When the WeeConnectPay app is uninstalled from your Clover account, the credentials for every store connected through that app are revoked at once, not just one store.

Each affected store then behaves as described above with one difference: because the Clover side is what went away, the red banner names the Clover account rather than your WeeConnectPay credentials. It reads "WeeConnectPay can no longer reach your Clover account, so payments are not being processed. Please go to WeeConnectPay settings and sign in with Clover again to reconnect." The checkout still hides the payment method, and the calm email subject is still the one you get, because uninstalling the app is a deliberate act.

Reinstalling the app from the Clover App Market puts the app back. Each store still signs in with Clover again to get working credentials, from the store's own settings screen.

If your goal is to replace the credentials, not stop the store

Signing in with Clover again from the store issues a completely new set of credentials and retires the previous set in the same move. It is one visit to the store's own settings screen, and your configuration survives it.

On WooCommerce:

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → WeeConnectPay in your WordPress admin.
  2. Open the Advanced tab and find Disconnect this store under Connection. The plugin describes the two buttons there: "Logout keeps your settings for when you reconnect. Full reset also erases every plugin setting on this site."
  3. Click Logout, keep settings, then confirm with Yes, disconnect.
  4. On the sign-in card that appears, click Sign in with Clover, then approve the connection code shown to you.

New credentials replace the old ones as soon as the connection is approved, and the previous ones no longer work. Because you chose Logout, keep settings, your payment preferences come back with the connection: the plugin's own promise is "Your payment preferences (printing, fraud protection, etc.) will be remembered when you reconnect." Your tax rate links and product links are rebuilt afterwards, from the Taxes and Inventory tabs.

The gap between step 3 and step 4 is the only window where the store is not taking card payments, so doing the two steps back to back keeps it to a minute or two.

Getting a revoked store running again

Set the connection up from the store, the same way it was set up the first time. What "disconnected" means, and how to reconnect walks through it step by step, and Set up WeeConnectPay for WooCommerce covers the full path if you would rather start clean.

If a store was revoked by mistake and something does not come back the way you expect, email support@weeconnectpay.com with the store domain and we will look at it with you.
