Your Clover merchant account decides which currencies you can take payments in. WeeConnectPay charges cards through that account, so a payment succeeds when the cart currency is one your Clover account accepts.

Most merchant accounts are single-currency: one processing currency, and every payment in it. Some accounts are set up for more than one.

Where to see yours

Open your WeeConnectPay dashboard and look at the Processing profile. Under the Currency group it shows:

Setting What it tells you
Processing currency The currency your Clover merchant account processes in.
Multiple currencies Whether the account is set up for more than one. Single currency means the processing currency is the only one.

These values come from Clover and cannot be changed in WeeConnectPay. The profile carries the same note on the page: these settings come from Clover.

How the values stay current

Your processing details are confirmed from Clover when you sign in to the dashboard, so signing in is usually enough to have them up to date. The profile also has a Refresh from Clover button that reloads them on demand, and it shows when the values were last updated.

When Clover is not refreshing part of that feed, the profile displays a notice saying so, and treats what it shows as a historical snapshot. The Processing currency is the value to rely on in that situation.

Matching your store currency

Your store calculates the cart in its own currency. In WooCommerce that is WooCommerce → Settings → General → Currency. A cart priced in a currency your Clover account does not accept reaches the payment step and does not complete there, even though everything before it looks normal.

So there are two settings to keep aligned:

  • the currency your store prices carts in, and
  • the currency your Clover merchant account processes in.

If they differ, either set your store currency to your Clover processing currency, or ask Clover about which currencies your merchant account can accept. Changing what your account accepts is a Clover account change, made with Clover.

Where WeeConnectPay operates

WeeConnectPay serves merchants in the United States and Canada. Canadian merchant accounts typically process in CAD and United States accounts in USD, and your Processing currency is the authoritative answer for your own account.

When payments fail and currency is the suspect

Currency mismatches show up as payments that fail at the payment step rather than as card declines. Payments failing at checkout: what to check first covers how to tell those apart, and When a payment is declined covers the card-refusal side.

If your store currency and your Clover processing currency already match and payments still do not complete, email support@weeconnectpay.com with the order number and the time of the attempt.
